Libya Sirte Basin non-exclusive well correlation study

  In cooperation with:

ENRES International and Lynx Information Systems propose to start work immediately on a non-exclusive regional-scale interpreted well data package for Libya. The package will establish an entirely new stratigraphic framework and will be invaluable to companies already active in the area as well as to those newly entering the country.

Existing and future subscribers to Lynx’s Exploration Adviser Project for Libya will be able to access the results through the Adviser GIS platform.

The package will comprise up to 50 wells out of 800 available to Lynx.
Early subscribers to the project will be invited to nominate wells from those available, or to contribute their own for inclusion in the study.
It is likely that the study will focus on the Sirte Basin, but wells from the Murzuq and Ghadames basins are also available.

Interpretation of the wells, using the latest cyclostratigraphic techniques will result in a new unifying stratigraphic framework, applicable across the entire study area. The cyclostratigraphic approach treats conventional logs as composite waveforms to which spectral analysis techniques can be applied. This yields a fundamentally new kind of information, from which cycles, trends and other patterns can be interpreted to construct a high-resolution, near-synchronous stratigraphic framework.
This framework enables the evaluation of existing reservoir intervals and the prediction of additional potential reservoirs in the basin.

Deliverables
Report text, with outline of methods
Composite log for each well, with new stratigraphic picks
Correlation panels
Well data in CycloLog format, with CycloLog Viewer software
Tables of stratigraphic picks for all wells

Format
The report will be available either stand-alone, on CD (with paper copies of correlationpanels if requested), or GIS-enabled, for integration with Lynx’s Exploration Adviser Project for Libya.
