ENRES International invites you to a training workshop
Advanced wireline log interpretations using CycloLog
The emphasis of the course is on practical, hands-on training
Concepts and Tools
A fundamentally new type of information is extracted from wireline logs by treating them as composite waveforms and applying frequency (spectral) analysis to them. This is done with the CycloLog® software. The output from spectral analyses in CycloLog is interpreted using the concepts of cyclostratigraphy. The new approach can be applied in both production and exploration. In combination with conventional methods of wireline log interpretation, it adds new insights into stratigraphy and reservoir development.
Topics of the Course
ADVANCED USE OF LOGS IN EXPLORATION
Build a high-resolution regional correlation scheme from logs alone – leading to a better understanding of the regional variation of play parameters.
USE OF LOGS IN PRODUCTION GEOLOGY
Use cyclostratigraphic principles to establish a detailed reservoir zonation from logs – the essential first step in defining flow units.
RESERVOIR CHARACTERISATION FROM LOGS
Evaluate interconnectedness of potential reservoir units and define permeability barriers.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND - CYCLOSTRATIGRAPHY
Understand, interpret and exploit climatic signals from sedimentary rock strata and logs.
LEARN TO USE CYCLOLOG VERSION 3.0
An exciting and innovative desktop tool for the petroleum geologist.
YOUR OWN LOG DATA
Opportunity to bring and analyse your own log data using CycloLog.
Training Instructors
Djin Nio, Mat De Jong, David Smith and Alain Böhm.

Who should attend
This course is for all petroleum industry geologists who work with wireline logs and who are interested in gaining more geological information from their data.
Existing users of CycloLog are very welcome; the course provides an opportunity to work with the newly released Version 3.0 of the software and get more information on interpreting results.
Anyone interested in the theory and practical application of cyclostratigraphy will find this course an invaluable opportunity to become familiar with this powerful range of techniques.
Petrophysicists and geophysicists interested in geological applications of log data will also benefit from the course.
